Senior Executive Forester, Forest Department Sarawak, Malaysia
Ms. Madeline George Pau is the Senior Executive Forester of the Forest Department, Sarawak. Previously, she had an attachment to the International Affairs Division from 2008 to 2010 as the Project Coordinator for the Heart of Borneo (HoB) Project in which she was involved in coordinating the Scientific Expeditions within the HoB areas, organising seminars and various collaboration meetings on HoB. Ms. Madeline continued her service in another division called Planted Forest Division from 2011 to 2014 and she mainly dealt with issues related to the implementation of planted forests by the Planted Forests License holders. Her latest post attaches her to the Management and Planning Division specifically dealing with Sustainable Forest Management and Forest Management Certification. She is also actively involved in Community Forest Management as a focal person from Forest Department under the Multi-stakeholder consultation framework for Anap-Muput Forest Management Unit. A Bachelor Degree holder in Forestry Science (Major in Forest Management from UPM Serdang), Ms. Madeline joined the Forest Department Sarawak in December 1995 under Forest Operation Branch. She had also joined the Malaysian-German Technical Cooperation Project looking after ecotourism and wildlife survey under the Forest Management Information System Sarawak (FOMISS) from 1996 to 2004 and she also co-authored the Forest Management Plan in preparation for sustainable forest management (SFM) certification for the FOMISS-Samling Pilot Area (FSPA) in Upper Baram, Miri, Sarawak.
